FROM THE PAST TO THE FUTURE: OBALURU CORONATES THE NEW OBAJIO WITH THE ANCESTRAL BLESSINGS OF ORANFE
Ejio, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria — In a moment steeped in tradition, unity, and cultural pride, His Ancestral Majesty, Oba Abiodun Orarotimi Mulatto (Osangangan I), Obaluru of Ife, has officially coronated the New Obajio of Ejio, bestowing upon him the sacred authority to lead with honor, wisdom, and the blessings of the ancestors.The coronation, attended by royal dignitaries, traditional chiefs, elders, and representatives from neighboring kingdoms, was filled with ancient rites and sacred chants passed down through countless generations. The Ancient Crown of Orajioye, an enduring symbol of kingship, was solemnly placed upon the head of the new Obajio, signifying the seamless continuation of Ejio’s proud heritage.
In his royal address, Obaluru declares:
“Today, the spirits of our forefathers walk amongs us. By the blessings of Oranfe, may the new Obajio rule with justice, protect the dignity of our people, and preserve the rich heritage entrusted to him.”
The event was not only a cultural and political milestone but also a reaffirmation of the enduring bond between the thrones of Obaluru and Ejio—a sacred partnership rooted in centuries of shared history and mutual respect.
As the drums echoed into the evening and the community rejoiced, the new Obajio pledged to lead with humility, uphold the traditions of the land, and ensure that the voice of every son and daughter of Ejio is heard and honored.
In a heartfelt message of gratitude, the House of Oranfe extended appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Ogunwusi, for the fatherly love and steadfast support shown to the new Obajio. “Kabiyesi, may you live long in health and wisdom, as a guiding light for us all,” the statement read.
This coronation stands as a bridge—linking the wisdom of the past with the promise of the future—under the eternal blessings of Oranfe.
