Osun State Technical Committee on Safe School Initiative Holds First Statutory Meeting
The Osun State Technical Committee on Safe School Initiative convened its first statutory meeting on 19th March 2024 at the Office of the Commissioner for Education, Osun State Secretariat, Abere. The meeting, chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr. M.A.K. Jimoh, brought together key stakeholders to discuss strategies for ensuring the safety and well-being of Senior Secondary Schools in Osun State.
During the meeting, the committee focused on critical issues surrounding the safety of schools, teachers, students, and educational facilities. Discussions highlighted the importance of addressing challenges related to student safety and protection, with a particular emphasis on creating a secure and conducive environment for learning. Hon. Dipo Eluwole underscored the collective responsibility of all parents in safeguarding the well-being of our children, urging greater community engagement in fostering safe learning spaces.
In addition, special recognition and appreciation were extended to His Ancestral Majesty, Oba Abiodun (Osangangan the 1st), Obaluru of Ife Kingdom, for his esteemed presence and valuable contributions to the meeting. His support continues to be instrumental in driving positive change for the community.
The committee also expressed its deep gratitude to Mrs. H.I. Kolawole, Chairperson of the Senior Secondary Education Board, for her unwavering support and dedication to the cause of improving education and school safety across the state.
